Everyone at Anchor House wants to wish Jamie all the best as he moves on. After living with us for just a little over 2 years he is off to pastures new. Jamie plans to take up a residential job within a hotel in the Perthshire area.

At the moment we have two second year social work students on placement. One is based at Rannoch Road and one at Crieff Rd.
They have been working intensively giving more focused support on individuals within our residential accommodation. They have both been a big hit with our service users.
They are on target for meeting their key performance roles with us and have had a wide range of learning experiences thanks to our service users who always embrace the opportunity of being part of their learning curve.
My next objective for them is to write a blog for this website, so check back soon to see what they have to say.

YPI has positively engaged secondary school students across Scotland and awarded thousands of pounds to small, local, social service charities. In January 2010 the programme was described in The Times as “something everyteacher should eagerly find out about and think of introducing to their school.” Since then YPI has continued to develop and gain momentum across Scotland, and has been referenced positively in a number of HMIE School Reports.
At Crieff High School on 10th February 2016 The team representing Anchor House the ‘ Elephants’ delivered their presentation in front of a large audience and a panel of high-profile judges. The presentation was so wonderfully delivered and very moving I was near to tears watching it!
After a tense time for the Judges, students and the charities being represented the decision was in………team elephants won and we were presented with a cheque for £3000.

We have been very lucky to have our new website built by one of our service users, we are now trying to learn how to manage it! We are care workers and not IT experts after all. On that note I would like to say a massive Thanks to Colin Lamont for donating his time to us to come up with this fab new design and for putting up with my IT inadequacies.

Anchor House has yet another successful year under its belt. The staff team has worked hard to deliver on our organisational aim to develop solutions that take into account the many contributing issues that impact on the lives of vulnerable homeless individuals. Our service provision continues to focus on the individual needing support and we pride ourselves on being pragmatic at developing sustainable solutions.
Partnership working is a key element in the provision of services. Over the past year we have grown substantially and now offer a diverse range of services to a broadening client group. Applying models of support based on best practice.
